Jack and Shalyn met on June 4th, 2021, and decided their first date would be a "quick" canoe ride on the Grand River to Lori and Rick's (Robin's parents) house. This "quick" trip turned into a four-hour adventure, as Shalyn underestimated the distance from the starting point.
The day brought cold weather, dead phones, and wet clothes due to a few slips along the way as they carried the canoe over rocks in shallow water. A couple of beers, cheese strings and plenty of laughs later, a connection took shape.
If they could make it through four hours in a canoe with someone who was practically a stranger, they figured there wasn’t much else they couldn’t handle together.
Jack and Shalyn can’t wait for you to join them as they begin this next chapter and celebrate their story.

We leave the responsibility of getting to and from the venue to our guests. Ample parking is available at the venue and you may leave your vehicle at the venue until 10 AM the following morning (Saturday).
